For anyone looking to an eloquent dose of culture into their lives, perhaps you should pay a visit to RedBrownandBlue.com. The site is a news source "...designed to build a two-way bridge for interaction and progress between grassroots multicultural communities and the mainstream media and influencers." It was also launched to enhance multicultural perspectives in mainstream media and to provide multicultural commentary to mainstream issues in the United States. RBB commentary has recently been featured on CNN.com and RBB founder Rudy Ruiz appeared on CNN Newsroom with Rick Sanchez. An online multicultural news and commentary site, Red Brown and Blue features daily columns and original reporting from a community of intelligent, passionate thinkers and doers with a desire to express their views, participate in the national dialogue, and contribute to the evolution of the American Dream in a way that patriotically cherishes the past while optimistically embracing the future. They recently launched ¡Adelante América!, a news and political commentary radio program providing Latino perspectives on current events and policy issues in a format that educates and empowers Spanish-speaking Latinos to participate in the Democratic process. Their vision is not only to engage audiences, but also to help educate and empower them. Mission accomplished.

Odds are that you've thought to yourself that you'd like to ride a Segway at least once, just to see what it’s like. The device, which looks like a futuristic pogo stick on wheels, seems to have replaced the notion of walking, only to have replaced it with a balancing act. You see a higher, more concentrated amount at places designed for walking: La Cantera mall, for example, or along the streets of downtown or Southtown. Segways provide heavy walkers such as cops and tourists the opportunity to replace major footwork with some gliding on wheels instead.
Although it may appear like balancing act, the designers of the Segway had clumsy people in mind when designing the electric vehicle: computers and motors in the base of the device keep it upright and balanced. You lean forward to go forward and lean back to go (you guessed it) backward; there’s a handlebar that you can turn to go left or right. Their speed can take you over 12 mph, so helmets are recommended. For a chance to try them out and experience the gliding on wheels for yourself, visit segcitysanantonio.com.

The absolute stranglehold that Apple has on the American
tech marketshare is undeniable. There are iPods in nearly every home, and Apple
computers are gaining more of a presence everyday. Part of their success can be
attributed to the very easy and accessible service provided at their Apple
Stores. Not to be outdone, Microsoft has decided to battle Apple on this front
with the announcement of Microsoft retail stores. These yet to be named stores
will be opening up all over the U.S. starting this Fall, and where they are
opening includes some pretty intriguing real estate.
Microsoft has stated that
they plan to open up many of their own retail stores right next door to Apple
stores, which could include several stores here in San Antonio. This would certainly escalate
the competition of Mac vs. PC. Microsoft hopes to attack on all fronts with
this plan, not only selling computers, but also informing and helping with
their other products including the Xbox 360 and the Zune. With the Zune HD launching
in the coming months, Microsoft is banking on the retail store to reimagine
itself as the brand of cool again. Look out for these Microsoft retail stores
at the end of 2009.

In 2006, the launch of the Wii was an enormous success, and
much of this could be attributed to the wildly popular game Wii Sports.
Packaged with the revolutionary system, many critics still feel it is one of
the best games for the Wii. Nintendo, capitalizing on this winner, decided to
take their games to the beach with Wii Sports Resort.
This new release is
packaged with Wii Motion Plus, a new technology designed to give the player's
Wii-mote 1:1 control, meaning the movement in the game is nearly identical to
what is being done by the player. Wii Sports Resort is seen as the flagship
game to introduce this new technology, and with 12 games to test it out, it is
hardly a bad deal. A couple of the games, Bowling and Golf, are already
familiar favorites, but there are several new games to shake your Wii-mote at.
Swordplay gives you a chance to beat your opponent mercilessly on a suspended
podium much like a contestant on American Gladiators, and you can channel your
inner Robin Hood skills in Archery. With Cycling, Canoeing, Basketball, and
many more, this game is loaded with much of the flavor and excitement that made
people fall in love with the Wii in the first place, and it gets you moving.
You can find out more about Wii Sports Resort at wiisportsresort.com or you can
pick it up at your local retailer.
