The real estate market is summer hot in San
Antonio and, whether you're looking for a home or an investment, there are some
wonderful opportunities out there for buyers. If you haven't been involved in a
real estate transaction over the past three or four years, you may not know
about buyer representation. In the past, a listing agent represented only the
seller, while the buyer had no representation. Nowadays listing agents are
still only allowed to represent sellers, but buyers can have their own real estate
consultant to protect their interests in the purchase of real property. The
advantage is that the buyer has by his side a knowledgeable professional who
understands the business, can search for properties that have all the desired
characteristics, handle the documents, schedule inspections and the final
walk-through, keep the lender and title company on schedule, and deal with a
myriad of issues as they arise.
The buyer agent, unlike the listing agent,
tries to create the best possible situation for the buyer. How much does the
buyer have to pay for this service? Usually nothing. (A buyer can of course
insist on paying the commission but most don"t.) SJMS

It's a situation all too
familiar to too many. You're in line at checkout, and just as the cashier
reaches for a plastic bag it occurs to you: again, you’ve forgotten the
reusable bags from home. Longtime friends Pam Eatrides and Caprice Ericson of
Bradenton Beach, Fla., call this condition "bagnesia,” a person’s forgetfulness
to grab their reusable bags. They have developed a bagnesia reminder kit
($17.99) and an array of other products to promote green living. The bagnesia
reminder kit includes a compact reusable bag, a door hanger that says “Grab
your bags!”, a steering wheel strap, a lanyard keychain and a clip for
attaching the bag to a belt loop, water bottle or keychain.
So why are we using reusable
bags again? For one, plastic bags don’t biodegrade but instead break down into
smaller toxic pieces. In addition, plastic bags have a knack for messing up the
ecosystem, trashing trees and wildlife habitat and killing more than 100,000
marine animals a year who ingest them. For more information, visit us www.bagnesia.com. SS
