IN THE INDUSTRY
Do you still wear bright colors in inappropriate settings? Can't seem to take that Debbie Deb cassette out of the tape deck? The Industry just might be for you. The self-proclaimed home of the 80s, The Industry, located at 8021 Pinebrook, aims to please those totally rad urges of yours. A lot of what people enjoy about music of the 80s is that it is so diverse, and that is definitely reflected here. In the main club, The Industry will spin the New Wave and Dance hits of the 80s, splashed in with a bit of 90s and today, and in the Retro Room, the DJs put an underground taste to things with 80s indie, goth, electro, and underground New Wave.

So whatever your desire to dance is, The Industry will probably have you covered. In addition, The Industry often puts on events dedicated to their favorite groups and artists. Artists to receive this treatment include Depeche Mode, The Cure, and coming up soon, Lisa Lisa,  Labor Day Weekend. So don’t fight those 80s urges; just give in and go to The Industry. DRINKERS WITH A RUNNING PROBLEM
On a recent trip to First Friday, I couldn't help but notice so many joggers often run past me.  It was mind-boggling.  First Friday sounds like a runner"s worst nightmare, having to say "excuse me” every ten feet and whatnot.  Even more baffling was to see them dart into bars: After witnessing someone run full speed into a bar, your problems don’t seem half-bad after all.  As it turns out, these runners are not knee-deep in sorrows; they’re partaking in the Run a Tab Pub Run.

Held every month by We Run San Antonio, the Pub Run begins at Ringside Sports Bar and ends at Drink, with pit stops at five other bars (Pat O’ Brien’s, V Bar, Drink, Leapin’ Lizards, and at First Friday) along the way for a total of seven stops and a total of almost four miles.  If there was ever a more unorthodox—and more fun—method of working out, this is it. If you feel like hitting the pavement after hitting the tequila (and vice versa), visit the We Run San Antonio website at http://werunsanantonio.com/running-a-tab-3. -AB

WINE AND DINE
Do you dream of taking a trip to wine country? Well now you can, without even leaving San Antonio city limits. 20nine Restaurant & Wine in the Quarry Market aims to take your palette on a journey through the culture and sophistication of northern California. They boast to have over 60 wines by the glass and over 300 bottles and artesian beer. The fun of 20nine is finding what wine suits you, and for those who can't decide, they have got something for you as well. The Road Trip is three different tastes of wine grouped by location, style, or varietal.

However, 20nine isn"t just about wine, the food is also meticulously prepared and it shows. Indulge in an appetizer of Grilled Bob-White Quail or Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta or take a delightful Cheese Tour if you are undecided. The painstaking preparation in the Seared Duck Breast or New Zealand Lamb Loin is not in vain. The flavor is undeniably dynamic. And you simply must save room for dessert. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not at least sampling their Vanilla Poached Peach. 20nine is named for the highway that runs throughout Napa Valley, and it’s a wonderful metaphor of bringing these delights to San Antonio. 20nine is located at 255 E. Basse Road at the Quarry Market. For hours and more details visit them online at http://www.20ninewine.com.
