ROCK AT REBAR
Rebar, located on Broadway Street, is a departure from the better-known tourist-geared bars of downtown. A true local hangout, Rebar is known for its diverse lineup of live music, which is featured every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Past performers have included Lotus, Ruben V, Saving Dawn, and other bands you probably haven’t heard of, which is great for those who want to discover someone new. The schedule is always updated, and the cover is always free.

If you’re not in the mood to see a band but still want to hear some great music, head across the street to Rebar’s new sister bar, Revolution Room. Relax in the swanky VIP Lounge, listen to their featured DJs, or sip on $2 drink specials on a Sunday night.

Rebar is located at 8134 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209.

Revolution Room is across the street.

STRAIGHT TO THE POINTE

The Pointe Martini Lounge, located on 19178 Blanco Rd., suite 201, as their Web site states is "an experience to be savored.” The Stone Oak night club's outward appearance looks very hip, a throwback to old 1950s martini lounges, but the interior is nothing but sleek. The lounge balances between neighborhood bar and semi-formal hangout. Live music with a video DJ, smoke free indoor environment, a diverse beer and specialty drink selection are offered at the cool lounge. And as a martini lounge, their selection is stellar with choices from French Cosmopolitans, Flirtini"s, Peppermint Patty martini’s, Mexicantini, Tuaca Lemon Drop martini’s, and The Ruby Red martini. Upcoming events include the P.i.n.k. Party “party for a cause” benefiting the national breast cancer foundation held on June 21 featuring DJ “Cilly C.” For more information, visit their Web site.
